First I wanna preface by saying that it is very difficult to find pure cotton abayas (and cotton is my preferred material) so I am very pleased that this shop decided to make them. I went ahead and ordered two of these in different colors, hoping I am going to have beautiful experience as I had with Dahlia abayas. However, as soon as I opened abayas I realized it was a mistake pairing this beautiful design with cotton. While abayas are thick and very opaque which is obviously positive, they are also heavy (due to quantity of material used) and do not flow nicely as this type of cotton weave usually doesn’t. It is going to be hot in summer (even though cotton actually works best in hot summer days) and I’m afraid due to stiffness of material, sizing is bit off comparing to fe. Dahlia abaya (yes, I know they are made of crepe and they will flow differently due to design as well but sizing itself shouldn’t be different, for reference Dahlia is very generous across chest and stomach area while Cottage is very tight across chest area which shouldn’t be the case if the sizing is on average same)
All in on all, I might keep it, I might resell it I am not yet sure what I’m going to do with it, but I am definitely sure I won’t be buying another one Cottage. Maybe if Cottage design was done in Linen that would be completely different story and it would be even more beautiful. And maybe on some petite sisters even this one might look nice. But on us giants, not so much.
I’ve given additional star because of beautiful design, colors and material used and even price is affordable.
